Meet Studio Joko
We are Studio Joko, a creative studio based in Amsterdam. With a lot of enthusiasm and know-how, we develop creative content to help brands create or refine an authentic identity.
At the heart of our studio is the notion of working with an open, warm and intuitive approach – a philosophy that is notable in everything we do and make. We are observers, following movements closely in order to develop sustainable concepts that stand the test of time. A sophisticated kind of playfulness is what characterises our identity and breathes through our work.
We are Debbie Trouerbach and Edith Scharloo. After working closely together at a concept store focussing on slow design, we started Studio Joko. Sharing the same vision and values, we teamed up as friends, Joko in old-Japanese, to pour our creativity into concepts and work with like-minded people and brands.
Debbie is soulfully dedicated to photography and art-direction, while Edith is experienced in creative writing, both sharing a keen eye for trends, fashion and styling.
We capture visual stories or product stills for fashion, product and interior brands, by developing seasonal campaigns, lookbooks, social media and e-commerce content. We specialise in both digital and analogue photography.
When it comes to setting the look, feel and voice of a brand or product, some extra guidance can be very welcome. We are here to take on the role of a storyteller, marrying together words and imagery to synthesise a message and mood into one visual language.
Style is essential to define a unique identity. We are dedicated to provide styling services related to fashion, interior and products. We cover multiple assets of styling - from fashion editorials and brand campaigns to the styling of still life photography.
We believe in finely-crafted words to shape a brand’s tone, message and voice. For brands that want to express their story and values in words, we offer long-form writing or copywriting (digital and print). Think of: blog articles, campaign ideas, web texts or any other requested communication format.
